Public Notice: 2026 Foodthink Climate Grant Project List

As extreme weather shifts from “news” to “the everyday”, we need more than ever action rooted in the land and based on real needs.

In late April this year, Foodthink officially launched the sixth round of the Lianhe Plan small action grants. We are looking for locally grounded solutions that do not remain at the level of grand concepts, but genuinely activate communities’ inherent capacity and help smallholder farmers and communities on the front line respond to climate change.

During the call for applications, we received a total of 58 applications full of sincerity and drive. These applications covered topics of varying breadth and depth, ranging from ecological restoration to community composting, and from low-cost risk reduction for smallholders to women’s empowerment. Whether it is producers on the front line exploring local wisdom, or researchers and creators reshaping urban–rural connections through data, art and drama, every concrete idea enriches our imagination of climate resilience.

Following the project team’s preliminary screening, in-depth online interviews, and scoring and discussion by the review experts, ultimately 12 projects stood out and were selected for this round’s Lianhe Plan funding list.

The number of funding slots is limited, but the spark of action is limitless. For partners who have not been included in this funding list but are already taking action, we likewise feel deep admiration.

Going forward, Foodthink will continue to follow and support everyone’s projects through means such as matching communications resources and connecting peer communities, so that more moving food and farming stories can be seen.

In the midst of change, let us together “Take a small step first, then talk about bigger things”.
